Dear members,
We are really sorry to inform you that the upcoming talk show about The Gardens of Japan with Mr.Seiko has been canceled because he called in sick. However, we are considering inviting Mr.John Smith to come back and talk about English gardens again. Though many of you have listened to his talk before, I hope you'll find it exciting. Otherwise, do you have any other ideas on this? Please let us know your suggestions and why.
The manager.
Question 1: Write an email to your friend, who is so a member of the club. Tell your friend how you feel and what you think the club should do.
Hi Lyn,
How have you been?
Isn't it a shame Mr. Seiko won't be able to attend the discussion show? If Mr. John Smith returns, I believe he should shift the topic of his speech to something other than the most recent talk show so that no one becomes bored. What do you think?
Drop me a line soon.
Love,
Lyn
Question 2: Write an email to the manager. Tell the manager what suggestions you will make and why.
Dear Manager, I am writing this email in response to yours to suggest some ideas for the upcoming talk shows of our club. I'd like to express my disappointment at Mr. Seiko's inability to attend the upcoming discussion show. For the past month, many members have been anticipating his arrival. I'm hoping that we'll be able to schedule another discussion show with him in the future. According to what I've heard, Mr. John Smith will also be our keynote guest at the upcoming talk show. However, rather than utilizing the previous one, which is about English gardens, I propose he chooses another topic. For example, because winter is approaching, he might talk about caring for trees and shrubs in the fall and winter, or he may share his knowledge of how to grow plants indoors, etc. I hope that my opinions are useful and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully
Lyn
